I thought I used quality ingredients - in fact, I'm sure of it. But there was a burnt trash bag flavor going on. The grenadine (Morgenthaler version) and Peychaud's are pointless, unless they factor more into the overall flavor expressions. Switch out the triple sec for Curacao?... Hmm, there's a lot going on with this recipe.

Agreed. I've replaced triple sec with orange curaçao and amended the recipe.

Honestly pretty great as an after-dinner drink. Very smooth, balanced, and so sippable. Slightly on the sweeter end, but honestly much less so than expected considering the grenadine. Great!

I bought Peychaud's recently and this recipe was the first time I ever tried them out. I did not know what I was in for— three dashes is pretty intense! Although it's well balanced, this drink is boozy and not for the faint of heart!
