Ingredients:
1 12 oz Bourbon whiskey
12 oz Syrup from Luxardo Maraschino Cherries
34 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
2 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
1 oz Brut champagne/sparkling wine
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Double old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of 3 skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherries.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).
  5. TOP with sparkling wine.
  6. Garnish with skewered cherries.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created in 2011 by Jonny Raglin at his Comstock Saloon in San Francisco, California.

Originally, the name of a brandy-based homemade liqueur with sour cherries, sugar and spices, Cherry Bounce recipes date back to late 17th-century England. While the Cherry Bounce is long forgotten in England, it travelled to the British colonies and remains popular in America, particularly North Carolina, where the annual Cherry Bounce Festival is held in June.
