Glass:

Ingredients:
1 oz Straight rye whiskey (100 proof /50% alc./vol.)
1 oz Bourbon whiskey
14 oz Syrup from Luxardo Maraschino Cherries
8 drop Bob's Vanilla bitters
2 oz Cola (e.g. Coca-Cola or Pepsi)
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill a DOUBLE OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist and skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherries.

How to make:

  1. STIR first 3 ingredients with ice.
  2. ADD cola and then STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish:

  1. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.
  2. Garnish with skewered maraschino cherry.

History:

Adapted from the house cocktail served at the St. Elmo Steak House in Indianapolis, USA, since 2012, when hospitality consultant Tim Kirkland introduced it.

Would never describe this as an Old Fashioned whatsoever, but perhaps the best Whisky and Cola variation. The Rye really takes it to another, better level.
