History:

Created in 2004 by David Wondrich in Brooklyn, New York City, USA. By popular demand (well, an email and one comment on this website) in June 2020, I reduced the whiskey in this recipe from 60ml to 50ml. (Hope you don't mind David?). However, my own preference is for the original 60ml whiskey but with 15ml Lillet Blanc, 15ml Americano Bianco, and 1 dash orange bitters.

Out of Irish, excellent with Jonnie Walker Black, went with 60ml.

A nice crisp Manhatten twist - orange suits the Irish whiskey quite well.

A nice alternative to a Rusty Nail.

Anything with whiskey invented by Dave Wondrich is worth a try. A bit on the sweet side for me but I’ll tweak it next time.

It's quite nice, but the herbal and orange notes seem a bit too subtle. The whiskey is tempered, but still very prominent. Perhaps the proportions might be adjusted a bit?

Thanks for bringing to my attention, I've amended the above recipe accordingly.
