History

Adapted from a recipe created in 2012 by Eric Johnson at Noble Experiment in San Diego, California. In the original recipe, the fernet was used to rinse the glass rather than being shaken with the other ingredients.

Review

A bourbon lime sour, the deliciousness of which depends on the quality of your grenadine and appreciation of fernet.

Might seem silly to say, but this is a corny-tasting riff on a Jack Rose. I might warm up to it after tweaking the specs, but the balance is actually pretty stellar. I thought I wasn’t tasting the Fernet, but it does stealthily bloom in the aftertaste. Eh, I'll play with this.
