History:

Adapted from a recipe discovered in March 2018 at Merchant House in Bow Lane, London, England.

30ml Agricole rhum, 60ml Lillet Blanc, 15ml Yellow Chartreuse and 10ml pineapple syrup, served in a small stemmed wine glass with a single pebble-shaped sliver of ice.

Original Recipe, Merchant House, 2018

Named after Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821). The following accompanied the cocktail on the Merchant House's menu: "After rising to the rank of General at the young age of 24, Napoleon later arranged a coup, placing himself as the first Emperor of France. His skill in command led to numerous years of French dominance in Europe and further afield, and his reforms continue to influence our society today."

Mad flavorful. Used what I had. Cocchi Americano, Rhum J.M Terroir Volcanique, Strega. Sweetness balanced enough to either take a splash of soda or sweetened carbonated mixer. Shouldn't push it too far over the edge in either direction. Surprising degree of pineapple essence, given the meager measure. Wouldn't put this on ice.

Surprised how much flavour just 15ml of agricole brought. Tastes a little bit different - in a good way.
