Serve in a Coupe glass
| 1 2⁄3 fl oz | Light gold rum (1-3 year old molasses column) |
| 1⁄3 fl oz | Monin Vanilla Syrup |
| 2⁄3 fl oz | Lime juice (freshly squeezed) |
| 1 pinch | Truffle salt |
| Top up with | Brut champagne/sparkling wine |
Garnish: Lime zest twist (discarded)
SHAKE first 4 ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass. TOP with sparkling wine.

Adapted from a recipe created by Jimmy Cassar at Buddha Bar in Lyon, France. L'Aristocrate was the French Bacardí Legacy 2018 winning cocktail and Jimmy's original recipe calls for Bacardi Carta Oro Rum.
To me, rum and champagne both represent celebration. In my cocktail, I mix these with truffle salt to represent my city, Lyon, and vanilla to represent my roots in Madagascar. This cocktail is a tribute to my family, who, in 1960, travelled to Europe looking for a better future.
