0.42 oz Hayman's London Dry Gin
0.42 oz Light white rum (charcoal-filtered 1-4 years old)
0.42 oz Patrón Silver blanco tequila
0.42 oz Bols Blue Curaçao
0.42 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
0.42 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
0.42 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
1 13 oz Lemon-lime soda (Sprite/7-Up)

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Collins glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of skewered lemon slice wheel and Luxardo Maraschino Cherry (sail).
  3. SHAKE first 8 ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  5. TOP with lemon-lime soda.
  6. Garnish with skewered lemon slice and cherry (sail).

This is one cocktail where the history is probably more interesting than the drink itself. It's presented here as a variant of the Long Island Iced Tea, but I think this is a case of convergent evolution. My theory is that this originated among American servicemen in the Philipines, late 1940s to early 1950s. That would explain the Spanish and the proto-Fratboy aspects of it. But I have no evidence. Would love to know the first published source of this cocktail.
