1/2 fl oz | Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water, 65.0°Brix) |
Garnish:
A grape, orange and pineapple slice
How to make:
MUDDLE grapes and pineapple in base of shaker and fine strain (without shaking) into glass filled with crushed ice. POUR other ingredients into glass and cobble (churn/stir) with barspoon to thoroughly mix.

69. RHINE WINE COBBLER.
Harry Johnson, 1882
(Use a large bar glass.)
1½ table-spoon of sugar;
One-half wine glass of water, dissolved well with a spoon;
1½ wine glass of Rhine wine;
fill the glass up with shaved ice; stir up well with a spoon; ornament with grapes, orange, pineapple, strawberries, in season; serve with a straw.
Alcohol content:
- 0.5 standard drinks
- 6.34% alc./vol. (12.68° proof)
- 7.6 grams of pure alcohol
