Glass:

Serve in a Rum barrel mug or pint glass

Ingredients:
1 12 fl oz Hayman's London Dry Gin
2 fl oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
2 fl oz Monin Ginger Syrup
4 fl oz British bitter ale
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill a RUM BARREL MUG OR PINT GLASS.
  2. No garnish to prepare.

How to make:

  1. Blitz BLEND first 3 ingredients with two ice cubes for ten seconds.
  2. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  3. TOP with beer.

  1. Serve naked, without garnish.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created in 2012 by Pete Jeary (aka Shaky Pete) at Hawksmoor, Seven Dials, London, England. Pete's original recipe:
35 ml Dry gin
50 ml Lemon juice
50 ml Homemade ginger syrup
120 ml London Pride Beer
The ginger syrup is made by blending 500g peeled and chopped root ginger, 500g caster sugar and 250ml water, fine-strained into bottles.

I used Ford's Gin, homemade ginger syrup, and the local Yards Philly Pale Ale (4.6% abv). This is addictive. Maybe a touch sweet, but quite a superb soft drink. (6 Jul 2023, 6:23a)
