As I had just purchased some Kummel (Mentzandorf) I was drawn to this 5+ star cocktail only to realise I'd used the last of my Blanco Tequila making a Blood Orange Tequila (highly recommended), so what to use as an alternative. Mezcal seemed obvious but I had also recently purchased a couple of bottles of Raicilla and decided to experiment with that. I chose La Venenosa Sierra Volcanes de Jalisco- the inferno link seemed fated. Wow, just wow! I will have to go back to the original, but WOW!
I didn't have Raicilla to hand so tried your suggestion of mezcal. Delicious! so much so that I've added a Mezcal Dante page. Please see the link under "Vaiaratons" above. Many thanks, Matthew.

One of the finest cocktails in the world. Herbal, powerful, complex, intense. I added a further 10m of Mescal. But then I would.
Found this while searching for Cocktails that I could probably do with Bergamot Juice instead of Lime juice, added some Barspoon of Supasawa to adjust the actual sourness, also added a Dash of Saline Solution, worked out really well, will do again with regular lime...Last Word Fans need to try this!
Very good, at first ever sip I was unsure and the experience won me over. (Like the first moments of swimming in a river, a shock and then a wonderful experience). The second time around I knew what to expect, dare I say it that the Kümmel makes this drink seem healthy.
A Caraway Margarita. I substituted Aquavit for the Kummel and reduced the simple syrup. It's good but I was hoping for a drink that was less of a margarita.
