Had anyone else tried Golden Moon kummel, made in the US? They're isn't much kummel flavor on the cocktail so I'm wondering if my kummel is weaker treating than the traditional ones.
We made the data back to back with the Azalea Margarita. I used Pomegranate Molasses for the Azalea. I forgot to clean the measure before I started making the Dante so we ended up with a "rinse" of pomegranate molasses in the Dante. The result more in depth flavor and a "suspended" molasses cloud in the Dante. Very cool.
Very delicate, a little buttery flavour with a finish in herb and lime tones. It is better to go for a better tequila here, such as the one suggested in the recipe, because the spicy basic Mexican vodka will dominate the whole cocktail.
Perfect cocktail. I used "Lehment Rostocker Doppelkümmel", a ideal product for cocktails. Nice caraway taste but not overwhelming and not too sweet, So the cocktail was perfectly balanced.
I to subbed agave for sugar syrup and Danish Akvavit for Kümmel. This is a good cocktail, not great, good. I like the Chartreuese and Akvavit with the tequila combo, the balance seems right. (4 of 8 of “Her Maj’s” Difford cocktails for the Jubilee. Don't think I will make it to the end today)
We loved this. Deliciously tangy and right up my tequila / chartreuse street. I subbed agave syrup, as usual, and Goldschlaeger for Kuemmel this time, but I will definitely order a bottle of Kuemmel to try out the original.
As I had just purchased some Kummel (Mentzandorf) I was drawn to this 5+ star cocktail only to realise I'd used the last of my Blanco Tequila making a Blood Orange Tequila (highly recommended), so what to use as an alternative. Mezcal seemed obvious but I had also recently purchased a couple of bottles of Raicilla and decided to experiment with that. I chose La Venenosa Sierra Volcanes de Jalisco- the inferno link seemed fated. Wow, just wow! I will have to go back to the original, but WOW!
I didn't have Raicilla to hand so tried your suggestion of mezcal. Delicious! so much so that I've added a Mezcal Dante page. Please see the link under "Vaiaratons" above. Many thanks, Matthew.
