Revisiting with my current favourite fruit liqueur - lingonberry - while retaining a dash of the triple sec. So tasty I bumped up the measures by 1.5x on this occasion and served in a coupe. The lingonberry added a beautiful roseate hue - a Campden blush!
Seems a bit sweet for an aperitif to my palate and that's even with using all Kina l'Aero, instead of splitting with Lillet. Not bad, though. I just think modern palates would want to skew this more gin heavy.
Wasn’t expecting much from this cocktail, but this cocktail was better then expected, which I think what helped for me was using a more citrus ford dry gin, which pairs nicely with triple sec, so overall although not the best cocktail ever it’s still a great drink and is a solid 4 almost 4.5 stars
Recently found Kina L’Aero d’Or by accident while driving through Walla Walla, Washington (of all places). To highlight the L’Aero d’Or and hew close to Craddock’s original balance with a slightly less-sweet cocktail, I used 1 oz Hayman’s London Dry and 1/4 oz each of Cointreau, Lillet Blanc, and L’Aero d’Or. No orange zest so I used a lemon twist, which played nicely with the Cointreau and the aperitifs. Lovely complex blend of citrus fruit and herbal flavors, as in a Last Word.
