This was an offer we couldn't refuse. Our advice is to just let it sit for a couple minutes and warm gently. Everything will come to a lovely harmony.

Ended up with some errors (not a long story but a tedious one) that led to a 2:1 pseudo split base of bourbon and american single malt and double the sweet vermouth, but it was fantastic. I’ll try original as well, but my variant was a treat.

The addition of duel vermouth made this interesting. The dry vermouth kept the cocktail from being as sweet as most "-Father" series of cocktails, but it was still an easy sip. Decent bourbon is a must. Might try with a dash of Angostura next time as Soeren commented below.

I think this can be added to the "Spirit-forward" style.

Thanks, Peter. That's been added.

I like this one very much. It was just a tiny bit too sweet for me, so I added 2 dashes of Angostura. Balances it out perfectly for me. I will try it with orange bitters next time though.

I didn't find it too sweet, but I tried as your suggestion first without then with 2 dashes of Angostura orange bitters. As I am a huge fan of the "original" Brooklyn with Picon Amer and its orange notes, the addition of the orange bitters ever so slightly elevated the drink for me.

Very nice. A bit on the sweet side at first and then goes to dry. The almond taste is very nice and supports the other ingredients.

Fresh out of Martini Rosso so I substituted Dubonnet. Russell’s Reserve provided the backbone. Moreish.

I would rate this a 4 using your sweetness scale. Starts with the Bourbon flavor (Knob creek 9) but quickly switches to the sweetness of the Amaretto and Vermouth. Finishes slightly dry.

Thanks Miguel. I've moved from 6 to 5 on my sweetness scale so closer to your 4.

I felt it light on mouth-feel and sweetness. Will switch vermouth volumes next time.

I agree with Gillian, the Amaretto is a nice touch. Actually had all the ingredients, with Knob Creek bourbon, and Noilly prat vermouths.

Great balance , amaretto adds a touch of sweetness. My first bourbon based cocktail and it’s a pretty good introduction

Wow
Thanks for your help this fine weekend, Simon.
Another well balanced winner here.
Woodford Rye (which is so much better than their standard product) worked very well.
Can I get three more cocktails in before bed, and commencement return of my Dry Weekdays.
