Just had this again, and it is still outstanding. The hints of flavour from the green chartreuse sends this cocktail into the next level. Unbelievable as a nightcap. Perfect. Highly recommend.

Use 1/2 calvados and 1/2 Applejack bottled-in-bond. Upped the proof, but wonderful flavour.

Quite a "cacophony" of flavors that work together nicely. The Calvados and Cognac are definitely upfront and it has a great citrus sourness/Angostura bitters finish.

This has become one of my favourite “treat myself cocktails”. I’m using Avallen Calvados and St Remy Signature Brandy. I have made this for a few dinner guests and they’ve been very impressed with it. I think it has a good balance of complexity and accessibility. The only reason it’s a treat cocktail is because the ingredients (Calvados, G Chartreuse) are very expensive here in Canada.

If you enjoy a Last Word, try it. If you enjoy this, the Wardays Cocktail is really nice too.

A complex cocktail which is not to everyone's taste, but which you absolutely must try! A must for me.

This is a delicious drink, it feels comfortable -- as if we've had something similar before -- but with enough nuance (probably from the Green Chartreuse) that it's different. Very easy to drink, but with sufficient complexity to make it interesting as well. A keeper!

Like Eduar, I too had some (Carrefour, holiday) leftover cognac with Pere Magloire!
Sadly unlikely to have all these ingredients in again otherwise this would be No.1.
The Calvados is really noticeable and the Chartreuse does its job without dominating. I thought 22.5ml lemon would be too much but not in this company.
A truly essential cocktail. Shame that at this abv you can only have the one.
