I'm surprised there's no mention on this page (or even site!) of using using aquafaba instead of egg. I don't eat them but am very interested in the realm of sours, so have had to look elsewhere to decidedly much less authoritative sources...

Thanks for the advice! The smoliness of my mescal clearly overpowers the rest of the ingredients, that ought to blend well. Not sure how to find a less smoky mezcal in Sweden, though…
I enjoy the simplicity. It gives credit to a freshly pressed orange juice, not letting the cognac take the upper hand.
Love the complexity of this one! Bitter, yet sweet, thanks to the perfect marriage of Suze (well worth getting a bottle specifically for this cocktail) with a humble but essential dose of amaretto.
Great variation for all lovers of Vieux Carré. And sure, this may be the more feminine of the two, but IMHO they're both perfectly unisex.

Had to substitute white cacao for brown, so cannot make a truly fair review, but I cannot imagine that the true version of this could come anywhere near competing with its delicious herbal-flavoured sister: the BBC
