Many thanks, Clarence. I've just revisited it. Hopefully, you find the above an improvement. 60ml (2oz) gin was a tad too spirit-forward so I dropped back to 50ml (1 2/3oz) plus added the all-important bitters.
I experimented with [Difford's] daiquiri bitters. Very pleasing but a bit more delicate...
100% agreed on the importance of the orange twist. One sip without it was unpleasant. With the twist it all came together.
There are many many tikis, but this is a very favorite. Sweet/tart. I may add .5 oz 151 next time!
I completely agree about the 151. It needs a but of a kick with all the dilution. El Guapo's Polynesian Kiss bitters also were great.
Amazing how the lemon juice tames the ferro china. Really great with the aromatics over the foam.

The 1:1 cognac/vermouth works very well. Found that Abbotts bitters tied together even more than Bokers.
Tried with 1oz Bacardi 8 and 2/3 oz Hamilton 151, which balanced the honey sweetness even better and gave the kick we wanted.
This is such an interesting cocktail! Depending on where it falls on the tongue, a different taste prevails. No sip is the same... thank you for forging this one.
The delicate balance really depends on the dilution, and the mint (floated a leaf on top) also added a really nice, subtle note.
The suggestion to use Abbott's bitters is excellent and the lemon twist is essential.
Touch less orgeat? Float of myers?
