Cheddar Cheese
I think I'll stick to the Italian Buck over this — even a light ginger beer elevates this substantially (in my opinion).

With half the lime this is perfection, nice lighter drink while still having some character. Averna and cynar are a great combination.

Increased the first four ingredients x 1.5 then added 50ml soda over ice in a 16oz glass...it was exceptional...couldn't set it down!

Highly drinkable on a warm summer’s evening. A bit like Coke, but so much better.

I really enjoyed this. It starts a shade underwhelming - I do love cocktails that have a flavour profile, from soda-dominant at the top, progressing to the more concentrated flavours of key ingredients as the drink progresses. By the end great complexity and interest develops - primarily interest in having another one!
I used Combier triple sec (and very nice it is too).

Indeed. Combier is really good here. I used two thirds of the called for soda and it was still fizzy enough. Definitely interested in having another!

Lots of citrus notes, lots of amari notes that seem to change around between the bitter cola of averna and the vegetal nature of cynar. A lovely highball.

Is it close to 2.2 Standard drinks - rather than 0.8 ?

Perfect for the Brazilian summer. Excellent balance between sweet, bitter, and acidic. A refreshing cocktail, goes well with snacks, salads, cheese, sandwiches, cold cuts, barbecue... Anything, actually.
