For Seinfeld obsessives, Festivus is Christmas. This fine celebration is based on the real-life family tradition of Seinfeld writer Dan O’Keefe and dates back to a 1997 episode of the show.
For an authentic Festivus, replace the Christmas tree with an aluminium pole (no tinsel), formally air your grievances by telling all those around the table how much they have disappointed you, and then wrestle the head of the household to the ground. Festivus is a fabulous occasion to bring out one of the classic American winter drinks, the Tom & Jerry, a meal in a glass that's perfect for sharing.
