Serve in a Martini glass

Ingredients:
2 oz Absolut Lime Vodka
12 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
12 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
16 oz Lime cordial (sweetened lime juice)
3 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
12 oz Chilled water omit if using wet ice

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Martini glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lime zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. Express lime zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Review:

A rust coloured drink with a delicately sour flavour.

History:

Created by yours truly (Simon Difford) in 2001 and named this drink after the British Naval tradition of mixing lime juice with spirits in an attempt to prevent scurvy. This practice gained British sailors the nickname 'limeys'.
