Ingredients:
34 oz Straight rye whiskey (100 proof /50% alc./vol.)
34 oz Rémy Martin V.S.O.P. cognac
14 oz Giffard Banane du Brésil liqueur
16 oz Cardamom sugar syrup
4 drop Bob's Cardamom bitters
2 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Review:

One of those cocktails where the name aptly describes what's in the glass. Spirit-forward and just nudging towards being a tad on the sweet side.

Not having cardamom bitters (and not having enough will to make some cardamom syrup), I substituted the two by crashing half a pod of cardamom and upping the banana liqueur to slightly less than 15 ml. That made it really nice.
