Review:

This drink's sweet-sour balance and degree of pink hue is relative to how generous you are with the grenadine.

(When made with homemade fresh pomegranate syrup in place of grenadine, and you hit the perfect balance, this drink is delicious but sadly lacks the eponymous pink hue with the result being more golden-amber.)

So tried this again tonight and as my original comment used a smaller Nick and Nora glass rather than coupe which better matched the volume. It may be our "local" (i.e. supermarket) limes are overly sour, but I also increased the grenadine to 7.5 ml which again for me better balanced the sour. Your limes may differ! Regardless, it is an excellent cocktail.

Only had Gran Gala, was very happy with this cocktail. Would recommend ,sweet yet not overpowering. Will need to try with Grand Marnier. The more I sip the more I like.

Lovely drink and indeed a pretty colour! My only comment is that the first time I prepared this drink (shaken with dry ice, not wet), I served it as suggested in a coupe (6oz). At the time I thought the volume would better suit a Nick and Nora glass (5 oz) so this time that's what I used which I believe is a better match for the volume.

Definitely concur with the review, especially the part in the parentheses, as the grenadine I made this time was with pomegranate molasses added to it, sadly muddying the colour too. Nonetheless, I do feel that my previous grenadine without the molasses will still be almost as good with a nicer colour.

Interesting as I used home made syrup with pomegranate syrup / molasses (Jeffrey Morgenthaler recipe) and still had a very nice pink colour. I used fresh squeezed pomegranate so I don't know if that made a difference.

Love the colour and sweet/sour balance. It was slightly strong so I added 50ml tonic which went very nicely with it.

A nicely balanced drink. I agree that this leans towards the sour side but not by much (used homemade Grenadine syrup)
P.S Loving the changes to the website (Aug/2/22). Much easier to navigate. Great job!

Thanks, Miguel. It's great to see much-anticipated changes finally live - now we have a lot of tweaking to do, plus we still have much new functionality to roll out. Exciting!

What an interesting cocktail. Has the great herbal notes from the gin along with the fruit flavours. Cocktail is nicely balanced and very easy to drink. Sugar level is spot on as we like our cocktails on the sour side. Very colourful.

A very drinkable accessible balance of flavours with a hint of depth from the grand marnier, and a very subtle balance of sharp and sweet from the lime juice and grenadine. A delicate pink colour makes this an accessible favourite of favourites for me.
