1 1/2 fl oz	Bourbon whiskey
1/2 fl oz	Dark/black/blackstrap rum
1/2 fl oz	Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1 fl oz	Orange juice (freshly squeezed)
1/3 fl oz	Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water) 65.0°Brix
1/12 fl oz	Monin Grenadine Syrup

Garnish: Orange zest twist

Serve in a Coupe glass

Method:

SHAKE first 5 ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass. POUR grenadine into centre of cocktail which should sink to form a red layer in base of glass.

I mistakenly build the grenadine first and then double strained the cocktail over (that is, the reverse of the procedure). Still was really delicious and well balanced. But I did feel like the dark rum did not contribute too much. Maybe a Dark Jamaican Rum would be more interesting.

Tastey tangy fruity sour. The rum invites the juices to Bourbon's party. As it warms, the flavors change with a pleasing grenadine crescendo. Definitely making this one again.

Very dangerous. The cocktail is deceptively light with wonderful citrus notes. Very, very easy to drink. Was concerned with the grenadine at the bottom on the cocktail, I used the orange twist to mix the grenadine into the cocktail. Great cocktail.
