Ingredients:
12 fl oz Patrón Reposado tequila
12 fl oz Patrón Silver blanco tequila
13 fl oz Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal
13 fl oz Cointreau L'Unique triple sec liqueur
14 fl oz Corn/maize liqueur
16 fl oz Mexican corn whisky
13 fl oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
14 fl oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
14 fl oz Agave syrup (agave nectar)
5 drop Difford's Margarita Bitters

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of dehydrated lime slice wheel and toasted baby corn stirrer.

How to make:

  1. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish:

  1. Garnish with lime slice wheel and baby corn.

Review:

A mellow but characterful Margarita distinguished by a splash of corn whisky, mezcal and corn liqueur, further mellowed by agave syrup and a split between lemon and lime.

History:

Created in February 2023 by yours truly for both Margarita Day and to celebrate Paul Young's Los Pacaminos Tex-Mex band playing at the local village hall a few days later. There are 10 ingredients - there's a lot of members of the band.

Seriously delicious. Maybe a bit somber as Margaritas go but lovely balance. We might reduce the Agave syrup to 5ml next time, just to see. Just one ingredient short of a cricket team...maybe an optional dash of Giffard Pimente d'Espellete to make up the eleven...probably no need for a twelfth man.
