Serve in a Martini glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Ketel One Vodka
34 oz Kirschwasser (cherry) eau-de-vie
1 12 oz Orange juice (freshly squeezed)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Martini glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

Recipe adapted from David Embury's classic The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks . Named after the epic (and somewhat camp) Cecil b. De Mille movie, which took its name from a Russian folksong hymning the Volga - Europe's longest river.

Tried this with some trepidation. Never been a fan of the Screwdriver as I found the vodka made the orange juice taste a bit off. This also has the off taste, but the Kirsh softens and gives it a bit more flavourful. Very interesting.
