Ingredients:
1 oz Patrón Silver blanco tequila
1 oz Cynar or other carciofo amaro
1 oz Americano bianco
× 1 1 serving
Read about cocktail measures and measuring

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill a DOUBLE OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

How to make:

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish:

  1. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Cynar 70 complements the Cocchi Americano nicely here. Was out of blanco tequila so I used a mild on the smoke mezcal, Apaluz with supurb results.

I agree, satisying yes. But I thought the Cocchi Americano was front and center, with the tequila and Cynar providing color. Excellent up drink though.
