Garnish:
Lime zest twist expressed and discarded. Adorn with skewered olive (ideally on a skull-topped cocktail pick)
How to make:
STIR all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass.
1 1/2 fl oz | Patrón Silver blanco tequila |
1/2 fl oz | Del Maguey Vida Clásico mezcal |
1 fl oz | Strucchi Bianco Vermouth |
1/12 fl oz | La Fée Parisienne absinthe |
2 drop | Saline solution 4:1 (20g sea salt to 80g water) |

History:
A tequila-based riff on the classic gin-based Obituary cocktail (a Dry Martini with dashes of absinthe), borrowing elements from the Tequila Martini and Oaxaca Old Fashioned. A couple of drops of saline solution have a dramatic rounding and mellowing effect on this cocktail. Created by yours truly on the Day Of The Dead 2023 at the Clocktower, Rye, Sussex.
