FIG SUPREME
Salvatore Calabrese, 2015
The delicate flavour of fresh figs – my favourite summer fruit – combines well with the aged tequila. Its extra time in the cask provides a superb underlying woody taste.
1 2/3 oz / 5 cl 100 percent agave añejo tequila
2/3 oz / 2 cl fresh lime juice
1/2 oz / 1.5 cl Grand Marnier
Dash grenadine
2 ripe figs
------
Garnish: wedge of fig
Method: Shake
Glass: Old-fashioned
Scoop out the flesh of the figs and combine in a shaker with the remaining ingredients and a scoop of ice and shake sharply. Strain into an old-fashioned glass over crushed ice. Garnish with a wedge of fig placed on the rim of the glass. Serve with a straw.
