Definite no for me. Far too sweet, tastes like something you’d drink as a teenager. Even the addition of cardamom bitters couldn’t redeem this one.

Found this just OK. Left out the simple syrup, but still found it way too sweet. I think it would be OK as an afternoon sipper on a hot summer day.

Lovely lemon cocktail. The absinthe rinse was milder than expected and the tequila receded into the background. But very nice overall without being cloyingly sweet.

Thanks for the comment David. It led me to remake this cocktail with absinthe incorporated into the recipe rather than just using it to rinse the glass.

A generous lemon and sweet cocktail with a background of absinthe. Tequila is not as forward as I’d like, but a delicious combination nonetheless.
