1 ¹⁄₂ fl oz	Hayman's London Dry Gin
¹⁄₂ fl oz	Green Chartreuse (or alternative herbal liqueur)
¹⁄₄ fl oz	Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
¹⁄₄ fl oz	Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water) 65.0°Brix
4 fresh	Basil leaves

How to make

Glassware

Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Prepare

Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
Prepare garnish of basil leaf.

Method

POUR absinthe into ice-filled glass, TOP with chilled water and set aside.
Separately, SHAKE other ingredients with ice.
DISCARD contents of glass and refill with fresh ice.
FINE STRAIN contents of shaker into the absinthe-rinsed glass.

Very delicious, summer, herbal but packs a punch.

Very tasty, enough to try again and re-rate with the proper basil (I only had Thai basil, which I think made this a bit more bitter than it would be regular basil). I'll also back off on the simple a bit, as it was a tad sweet for me.

I muddled the basil leaves in the tin before shaking and fine straining. A superlative and strong summer refresher.

Just mixed this little beauty and it is lovely...not for the faint hearted and don't overdo the French nutter drink or it will overwhelm the cocktail
