History

Keyser Söze is a fictional character and the main protagonist in the 1995 film The Usual Suspects, while Suze, spelt with a 'u', is the bittersweet gentian flavoured liqueur and main protagonist in this cocktail.

Review

Gin and cognac sit surprisingly well together as base ingredients with gentian and citrus freshness.

I'm always wary of the bitterness of Suze, but the balance here is fine.

This turned out to be a really good drink, even using a lavender simple syrup. I suppose you could also use a triple sec upgrade for the sweetener as well.
