Glass:

Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Ingredients:
4 fresh Basil leaves
1 23 oz Patrón Reposado tequila
23 oz Elderflower liqueur
13 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
23 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of thyme and basil sprigs.

How to make:

  1. MUDDLE basil in base of shaker.
  2. Add other ingredients and SHAKE with ice.
  3. FINE STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish:

  1. Garnish with thyme and basil sprigs.

Review:

A basil tequila sour (Margarita if you will), sweetened with elderflower liqueur – basil and elderflower flavours sit well with the tequila and lime.

It’s pretty good. To be honest, I was using Blanco tequila. Initially, the tequila dominates the flavor, but towards the middle, the elderflower taste becomes more prominent.🌼

Very balanced and refreshing for a summer afternoon. Personally I would omit the sugar syrup, but some of my guest found it perfect like it is.

Sadly, I haven’t any notes for who created Flor de Don Juan or where I discovered it.
