Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Ingredients:
4 fresh Basil leaves
1 23 oz Patrón Reposado tequila
23 oz Elderflower liqueur
13 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
23 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
× 1 1 serving

Garnish: Thyme & basil sprig

How to make:

MUDDLE basil in base of shaker. Add other ingredients, SHAKE with ice and fine strain into ice-filled glass.

Review:

A basil tequila sour (Margarita if you will) sweetened with elderflower liqueur – basil and elderflower flavours sit well with the tequila and lime.

Very balanced and refreshing for a summer afternoon. Personally I would omit the sugar syrup, but some of my guest found it perfect like it is.

Sadly, I haven’t any notes for who created Flor de Don Juan or where I discovered it.
