Ingredients:
1 23 oz Ketel One Vodka
56 oz Disaronno amaretto
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

This 1970s cocktail is a vodka-based sibling of the better-known Scotch whisky-based Godfather. Both cocktails, along with the similar brandy-based French Connection, appear in Brian F. Rea's 1976 Brian's Booze Guide.

It's quite good but little bit plain. Neutral vodka brings the best of amaretto and dilutes sweetness. Try it with dash or two of absinthe, thou it's not Godmother anymore, maybe Fairy Godmother.

Actually not too bad. Used Ketel One and a trash amaretto. It does a good job attenuating the saccharine slop of a low-grade liqueur. (2 Jun 2023, 4:17a)
