Passoã Porn Star Martini 2023 Competition

Passoã passionfruit liqueur is one of the original ingredients Douglas Ankrah used when he created the Porn Star Martini in 2002. His cocktail has become a contemporary classic and Passoã sought to find new distinctive versions through this competition.

Congratulations to the two winners and two runners-up! As well as a cash prize, the two winners have won Flavour Blaster kits to wow their guests.

Bartender winners

Winner: Jason Kilgore, with his cocktail Feather Boa from New York City and bartends at Dutch Kills, Dear Irving, and bā'sik wins €1,000 Euros plus a Flavour Blaster Pro 2 Kit.

Runner up: Sarah VanBindsbergen with her cocktail Nick and Nora make a Porn Star Martini from Trona bar in Austin, Texas wins €500 Euros

Home cocktail enthusiast winners

Winner: Jonathan Travers-Smith with his cocktail Foam Party - wins €1,000 Euros plus a Flavour Blaster Mini Kit.

Runner up: Serena Campas with her cocktail A Garden in Jalisco - wins €500 Euros.

Judging criteria

The most delicious yet easy-to-replicate recipes received the highest scores, and as a cocktail's name greatly influences its popularity, the name of each cocktail also greatly impacted the score. Points were awarded as follows: Taste = 40%; Name = 25%: Ease to replicate = 25%; Broad appeal/potential to become a contemporary classic = 10%

- Victor Lilue: Marketing Director in charge of Passoã at Lucas Bols USA
- Kaarina Jannin: Passoã Global Brand Director
- Ivar de Lange: Global Education Manager for Lucas Bols and Bols Cocktail Academy.
This professional team judged all the entries to decide on the winners.

This competition opened on 28th July 2023 and closed on 30th September 2023. The Winners were informed on 19th October 2023, and this page was updated to announce the winners the next morning.
