Instant favorite!
I followed the advice of Simon S. , adding a pinch of cayenne to the cinnamon sugar and substituting Laird's 100-proof applejack for the Pisco. Only had mezcal, so used that and skipped the agave, as I prefer my drinks on the not-so-sweet side.
This rivals anything I've ever had at a fancy bar in my hometown of St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota :)

We love this but think it works even better substituting Calvados for the Pisco. Avellen, which we use, gives the drink such a fresh, bright lift. We also reduce the Agave syrup to 5ml and up the Mezcal liqueur to 20ml (the liqueur has roasted Agave syrup as an ingredient).

We love this cocktail and make our own cinnamon sugar, adding a generous pinch of Cayenne pepper. Well, it is a Firecracker after all.

Since I don't like pineapple juice, I tried this with seabuckthorn juice instead -- DELICIOUS! Also, I used my homemade lime cordial as a sub for fresh squeezed lime juice + agave syrup. WOW! Now I need to learn how to submit this as a variation :)

Please excuse my ignorance- is there a difference between mezcal and the mezcal liqueur mentioned in ingredients here? The interwebs hasn’t helped me find an answer - thanks!

Mezcal is a spirit (unsweetened), while mezcal liqueur is sweetened with roasted agave syrup.

The rim is definitely not optional.

There's something i can use instead of pimento? Unfortunally i don't have it but this cocktail looks like amazing!!! i definilly want to do that, thank you if you have any suggestion

Pimento dram is dry with tannins, almost bittersweet, with accompanying spice. I'm not sure there is an obvious well-distributed alternative. However, if you are in the UK, I think you'll find pimento dram more widely available towards the end of 2023.

You can make it pretty easily if you’re happy making a sugar syrup (I found a recipe by searching) . It might not be as good as the shop bought but probably close enough

With all those juices plus the thick agave syrup, this must get shaken, isn't it? And quite energetically I'd think - to make that pineapple juice froth.
