Review:

A Last Word made with genever in place of London dry gin. The distinctive flavour of genever stands up well to the other very characterful ingredients.

2nd word in my quest to taste of the last words. Since I read the Dumas Papers of Reverte, the book form of the 9th gate film. The charachter drank all the time: Bols Genever. So I went for it and really didn't get it. But now with this: I find the 9th gate secret. Is much better than the just pure last word, really is the latest. Don't know how I will find the other 49 recipes here... This wins. But just win the first... mmmh

New favourite! Made with Boomsma Cloosterlikeur (+5ml) for the chartreuse. Maraschino -5ml because I find it can quickly overpower the other flavours. And I used Zuidam Korenwijn 1 yr genever, which tastes absolutely lovely on its own already.

Great cocktail. Beautiful colour. Slight hint of citrus. Nice herbal tastes from the Genever and Chartreuse. Would be wonderful either before or after dinner.

Just returned home to Canada from a trip to England. While there, I specifically made a trip to the Whisky Exchange to source Old Duff Genever as have been unable to buy genever gin in Canada. So glad I did. I love this cocktail; a definite repeat. Look forward to trying other genever cocktails.

I love this drink - really hits the spot. I use an overproof gin like Blackwoods 60
