Ingredients:
1 oz Irish whiskey
1 oz Barenjager Honey liqueur
1 oz Orange juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
2 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
1 oz Orange flavoured soda water
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Highball (max 10oz/300ml) glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange slice wheel.
  3. SHAKE first 5 ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass, while also pouring soda water.
  5. Garnish with orange slice wheel.

I didnt have any oranges on hand so I substituted them for more blood orange soda and omitted the simple syrup. Even with Redbreast 12 cask strength for the whiskey, the Barenjager is over powering with a hint of angostura. The whiskey is lost in the flavors.

When your in laws leave a bottle of mountain dew in the fridge, you may as well try it... Used whiskey x2, didn't use sugar syrup, and still a bit too sweet.
