1. Porn Star Martini - the most visited cocktail on Difford's Guide for an 11th year.
2. Gin Basil Smash - Jörg Meyer's tasty gin-based smash holds its second place for a third year. It was in 3rd place in 2022 and was down in 33rd back in 2016.
3. Vieux Carré - this New Orleans classic is up from 5th place in 2024, 10th place in 2023 and 11th place in 2022 and continues its climb from 27th place in 2018.
4. Margarita - Thanks to including page views from the Tommy's Margarita this tequila-based classic was in 2nd place in 2021. However, I moved the classic to stand proudly on its own for 2022 numbers when it sat in 9th place, a position it maintained in 2023, dropping to 10th place in 2024. The Margarita's true popularity is masked by a myriad of versions, besides just a Tommy's Margarita.
5. Mai Tai - commonplace on bar menus around the world, this Tiki classic is up from 11th place in 2024, 7th place in 2023, 13th place in 2022 and 2021.
6. The Last Word - continues its climb from 7th place in 2024, 8th in 2023, 13th in 2022, 26th place in 2021, 31st place in 2020, and 29th in 2019.
7. Amaretto Sour – the first faller, down from 4th place in 2024 and 2023. It was 5th in 2022, 4th in 2021, and 2nd during 2020 and 2019. (I've aggregated traffic from the less-visited but rather better Morgenthaler Amaretto Sour.)
8. Espresso Martini - Dick Bradsell's stimulating cocktail has maintains its 8th place from 2024, but is down from 5th place in 2023, 4th place in 2022. However, its true popularity is hidden by page views being split over numerous versions – e.g. a Grappa Espresso Martini.
9. Picante de la Casa (AKA Spicy Margarita) - down from 6th place in 2024 and 2023, but still up from 11th place in 2022, 17th in 2021, this was a new entry at 20th place in 2020.
10. Manhattan - as in previous years, I've combined page views from Sweet and Perfect Manhattans (few drink Dry Manhattans). The Manhattan is up from 12th place in 2024, 16th place in 2023, 41st in 2022. It sat at
7th place in 2021.
11. Naked & Famous - This contemporary classic was in 3rd place in 2024 and 2023, 2nd place in 2022. Back in 2018, this was a new entry at 64th from just outside the top 100 in 2017.
12. Whiskey Sour - 17th place I 2024, 12th in 2023, 29th in 2022, 31st in 2021, and 43rd in 2020.
13. Jungle Bird - 9th place in 2024, 15th place in 2023, 21st in 2022 and 32nd in 2021. This was a new entry from narrowly outside the top 100 during 2018.
14. Paloma - a second year at 14th place, up from 20th place in 2023, 34th place in 2022 but still well down from 9th place in 2021. The Paloma was 15th in 2020 and 27th in both 2019 and 2018.
15. Paper Plane - down from 13th place in 2024, 11th in 2023 but still up from 18th place in 2022, this was a new entry at 65th in 2018.
16. Corpse Reviver - up from 34th place in 2024, 28th in 2023, 25th in 2022 and 12th in 2021. The Corpse Reviver languished at 100th place back in 2016.
17. Singapore Sling - Singapore's national cocktail was at 37th place in 2024, 29th in 2023 and 22nd place in 2022.
18. Old Fashioned - up from 24th place in 2024, 30th in 2023, 51st in 2022. The Old Fashioned was also in 18th place in 2021. Back in 2017, reached its 10th place high.
19. Daiquiri - down from 16th place in 2024, 14th in 2023, and 8th in 2022 but still way up from 34th place in 2021 and 49th place in 2020. Made well, this is a brilliantly refreshing cocktail. Sadly, all too few do it well!
20. Cosmopolitan - this contemporary classic was in 21 place in 2024, 19th in 2023, 53rd in 2022 and 10th place in 2021.
