In this cocktail I used a local made cherry/choc-liqueur. Delicious 👌

Used Sangue Morlacco as bottle needs finishing: A lovely little touch sweeter than the usual martini, but still pleasantly boozy and adult - prob still too strong and dry for those who struggle with martinis. But I Will definitely make again!

Comparing the two cherry liqueurs, the Cherry Heering prob integrates better and has a satisfying upfront cherry punch, the latter more a vehicle for showing what an utterly delicious tipple Sangue Morlacco is, going beautifully with one of the Luxardo cherries of course!

Revisiting with Cherry Heering. Superb balance of the intensely sweet Cherry liqueur with the other ingredients, almost Smokey against the herbal and bitter . I love cherry liqueur chocolates and this produces a similar effect.

Cherry Heering is a little too much on the cough syrup spectrum. Following a Reddit suggestion to add saline seemed to calm that down and produce something sweet but drinkable.

Using the exact measurements given, same gin and Martini Extra Dry, I tried this first with Polish Krupnik Wiśnia - result - a traditional martini experience with a little cherry influence - dry and sophisticated; 2nd time with Cherry Heering - a velvety, darker-hued, overtly cherry drink with the orange bitters, apparently, shining through more directly. Either way, an excellent cocktail.

This is a tasty, sweeter rif on the Martini. Wouldn't want it all the time, but it is an intriguing change of pace.

I found it a tad too sweet and syrupy so added 1 oz of vodka which suited my taste preferences

If you want to sweeten this up a bit for yourself or someone else, a barspoon (5 ml or 1/6 oz) or two of Luxardo maraschino cherry juice from the jar, not surprisingly, works well.

Loved this with Cherry Heering. Especially as it warmed up.

Really exceptional does not describe it. Lovely balance. Try Regal Stir with orange zest peel and then garnish with lemon zest and Maraschino Cherry, as in the original. Fabulous.

A touch of orange zest to warm could work really well here!

What I love about this drink is that you can swap out the cherry brandy with pretty much any liqueur and it works! Minor adjustments needed here and there but it's a really great template.

Outstanding. Everything works perfectly together here. Nice herbal flavours from the gin and vermouth with a nice hint of cherry. Much drier than I was anticipating. On my favourites.
