It is definitely an excellent nightcap. I would recommend bringing down the sweetness by splitting Punt E Mess with Montenegro amaro (50/50). Lovely.

This is good! Bittersweet & complex. Sweet up front, followed by smoke (but not too much), then bitter, "soapy"/floral, orange. The Carpano is hard to pick out, but I have little doubt that it's adding to the overall complexity. I kind of want to rate this 4.75 stars... I used Johnnie Walker Black, Carpano Antica, Montenegro Amaro, Aperol, & Angostura Aromatic bitters. If you like each of these ingredients, this is worth trying.
Thank you for your kind words and really happy that you like it! Using JW Black is right on the target. I recommend any aged Scotch of your preference. Since you like this one, I kindly advise you to try my Boulevardier Dogs recipe, a spinoff of the classical Boulevardier cocktail. Enjoy it!
Simple and Fabulous. I kindly recommend muddling the mint leaves with the sprig and lime juice, then add other ingredients. It is dangerously light, sparkly and addictive!
I used the Japanese Hibiki Harmony, which has distant fruity and citrus notes. Strongly recommend twisting thick grapefruit zest. Love it, this is a shiny newcomer.
A cocktail, where Fernet Branca shines affront: remarkable, we love it.
Also, you might want to try it with Maple, instead of sugar syrup and Single Malt Scotch of your choice.
Gin, Chartreuse Yellow, Elderflower liqueur, Maraschino liqueur, (+ 2 more)
Coffee liqueur, Amaro (e.g. Averna), Espresso coffee (hot), Vodka, Amaro (e.g. Montenegro)
Bourbon whiskey, Cognac (brandy), Coffee liqueur, Amaretto liqueur, (+ 2 more)
Excellent cocktail. Mezcal(or Reposado Tequila) and Cinnamon are established combination. I agree with G.M.G. about the distant lemongrass (Thai) echo. Being wonderful, as this cocktail is, I kindly suggest using 10ml Benedictine DOM instead of Falernum: outstanding.
Vodka, Cognac (brandy), Coffee liqueur, Aromatic bitters, (+ 2 more)
What would be a good substitute for braulio? Abano, nonino?
I would recommend the remarkable Montenegro Amaro - 10 ml. It elevates the experience; also it is great on the rocks.
As experienced espresso fans we like a lot Double Black. I use Mr. Black liqueur, which is superior to most of the available coffee liqueurs. Since it is dry and strong, I kindly recommend adding a dash of Maple syrup. A must for coffee lovers.
Mint leaves, Bourbon whiskey, Lemon juice, Bénédictine D.O.M., (+ 2 more)
Mint leaves, Bourbon whiskey, Lemon juice, Maraschino liqueur, (+ 2 more)
Gin, Amaro (e.g. Montenegro), Vermouth alla vaniglia, Becherovka liqueur, Saline solution 4:1
We are Last Word(and variations) connoisseurs, but I think, this is one of the best cocktails by Simon Difford. It is really exceptional. Thank you!
Reposado tequila, Chartreuse Green, Bénédictine D.O.M., Lime juice, Basil leaves
This is an enchanting and complex palette. I kindly recommend mellowing down the Campari: split it to 10 ml Aperol & 10 ml Campari. So Mediterranean.
Vodka, Black raspberry liqueur, Cranberry juice, Lime juice, Cherry bitters
It is a lovely cocktail, a bit overlooked. The best Brooklyn variation to me and pretty close to Red Manhattan cocktail, which is the next door neighbour. Is there a way to rank your favourites?
Vodka, Gin, Black raspberry liqueur, Lime juice, Ginger beer
Vodka, Maraschino liqueur, Cranberry juice, Lime juice, Cherry bitters
Bourbon whiskey, Rosso/sweet vermouth, Amaro (e.g. Averna), Bénédictine D.O.M., (+ 2 more)
This is fruity and sparkling one. I love it by adding 7.5 ml of fresh lime juice.
In another version, kindly try substituting Creme de Framboise with Heering Cherry Liqueur: a natural winner.
