I think I ruined my first effort with too much absinthe. It really should be just a drop as the absinthe can become too prominent in the mix.

Bloody truly awful. Like medicine, in the worst possible way. Urgh.
Nice after dinner cocktail. I think sugar is not necessary. Just be careful with the orange garnish as orange bitters already are a citrus back note.
I really like this. The user of both bitters provide a really nice background to the initial upfront flavour of the bourbon. Just be careful with the maraschino liquer as to much can knock the delicate balance of flavours.
Really like this as a straight gin martini alternative. Has slightly more complex notes.
Fabulous but be careful with the absinthe as too much will overwhelm the cocktail and ruin the balance. I used Bulleit Rye but I expect a more traditional higher alcohols content rye such as Rittenhouse would be even better.
Lovely balance. I used Green Spot Irish whiskey instead of Jameson which worked beautifully. Not sure if the orange garnish lessens the drink as I prefer without garnish.
Gin, Rosso/sweet vermouth, German amaro, Amaro (e.g. Montenegro)
Use Amaro instead of Campari and you'll have a wonderfully balanced and moreish drink that could even convert the most ardent negroni hater.
Oh, this works beautifully. Really lovely balance and very moreish. Superb.
Nope, not for me! Lacks moreish quality and the peat is too forward which puts the whole drink out of kilter. Some Fee Bros orange bitters helped a tad bit but not enough.
