As I didn't have orgeat on hand substituted Amaretto. Added some margarita bitters. Still nicely sour and very refreshing. Like the more subtle flavour of the Ameretto over the sugary orgeat. But then I like dry cocktails.

My fiance and I loved this, made with alba dorado tequila. Beautiful. So smooth and easy drinking.

I don't think the orgeat is great with the tequila. In fact, I think it is ok, but not really good, and not something I'd pursue.

Without triple sec, this just wasn’t giving me “Margarita.” I ended up stirring in 1/2 oz of orange curaçao (in keeping with the tiki theme), which rounded it out nicely. Then I realized that I just turned it into a tequila based Mai Tai! That said, I enjoyed it much more than a standard light rum Mai Tai.

The word Tiki is misleading. This is not a typical tiki style drink. It is very dry and tart. Excellent variation. Very refreshing.
