Serve in a Collins glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Bénédictine D.O.M. liqueur
1 12 oz Rémy Martin V.S.O.P. cognac
34 oz White overproof rum (unaged Jamaican/funky)
34 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Collins glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon slice wheel.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into glass two-thirds filled with crushed ice.
  5. Briefly CHURN (stir).
  6. Fill glass with more crushed ice.
  7. Garnish with lemon slice.
  8. Serve with a straw.

Sip slowly, this one packs a punch! Or don't, I couldn't. Rum Fire's full potential shone here and I couldn't put it down. Nicely balanced, just enough sour and bitter complexity to back up the funky rum. Five stars for me!

Pleasant Christmas cake notes come through on this one. I find the original recipe to be far too strong and dry, so I reduced everything by 1/3 and added 0.25oz sugar syrup.
