Ingredients:
1 oz	Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal
1 oz	Amaro Montenegro
1 oz	Italicus liqueur

Prepare:

Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

How to make:

STIR all ingredients with ice.
STRAIN into ice-filled glass. (Better over good cubed ice than block ice.)

Garnish:

EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

I was worried this would be too sweet for me so I added a couple dashes of orange bitters, also used both orange and lemon zest to garnish. really nice drink!

Very nice! I ended up with a Me/Me/and I (mezcal/Meletti/and Italicus) - I find that Meletti is very similar to Montenegro and is a bit less expensive, so I tried it. Rich and darkly sweet, and a nice note of smoke that really combines well with the amaro. The Italicus adds a bit of brightness, and makes a fleeting appearance as the leading flavor note after the initial sip but yields well before the finish.
