Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Hayman's London Dry Gin
1 oz Grand Marnier or other cognac orange liqueur
14 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Monin Grenadine Syrup
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

In W.J. Tarling's 1937 Café Royal Cocktail Book this cocktail is accompanied by the notation, "Invented by Albert". The recipe stated is 1 dash lemon juice, 1/3 Grand Marnier, 2/3 Dry Gin, Dash Grenadine.
