Review:

The richness of Grand Marnier balances lemon juice in this classic gin-led drink. A dash of grenadine provides the pink hue.

In W.J. Tarling's 1937 Café Royal Cocktail Book this cocktail is accompanied by the notation, "Invented by Albert". The recipe stated is 1 dash lemon juice, 1/3 Grand Marnier, 2/3 Dry Gin, Dash Grenadine.
