Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
7 fresh Mint leaves
2 oz Light gold rum (1-3 year old molasses column)
14 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
16 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of mint sprig & Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

History:

Created by Constantino (Constante) Ribalaigua Vert at El Floridita in Havana, Cuba. This recipe is adapted from a 1937 Bar Florida (later renamed Floridita) menu. The name refers to Mario García Menocal, who was president of Cuba from 1912 to 1920.
