History

Named after the character played by Scarlett Johansson in eight Marvel movies, including two which also starred Jeremy Renner. In 2023, Renner featured a Black Widow's Bite cocktail in a promotional video for delivery firm Drizly. His version of this cocktail was made with orange rather than blue curaçao and based on Sweet Grass Vodka, a brand he co-owns.

Review

Essentially a Screwdriver blued (not quite blackened) by blue curaçao and served straight-up.

A little to sweet for me using Bols Blue Curaçao. I purchased Senio'rs CuraÇao liqueur from Curaçao. Ingredients: Sugar 222 22 gr/U. Orange sweet 6,8 ml. Glycenne 3.2 ml. Concentrate for orange peels spices and herbst 88,5 ml . Available from preissimports.com

Creepier than I thought, almost bad

I didn't expect much but this was surprisingly good.
The orange bitters do a lot of heavy lifting here.

The black salt definitely gives the drink a sharp start! Great for parties for a dramatic look; add an orange slice

I used Tanquerey gin 46% , followed the recipe as best as I could.
Sorry to say i had runned out of Icelandic black salt,so my Nick&Nora glasses had sugar rims.
Must say this cocktail deserves 4 stars

I made this cocktail exactly as the recipe states and then afterwards followed up by making the same cocktail again, but with 15ml of blue curacao instead of 22.5ml and found it to be less sweet but for the better personally, which also for garnish I think it’s just meant to say a black salt rim and not orange juice and black salt rim

I used an orange to moisten the rim so the black salt stuck to the sticky juice. Hence, orange juice and black salt rim.

Oh I’m such a fool, cause of course that’s why it says to garnish with orange juice and black salt rim, since if I’m being honest I didn’t end up doing garnish, due to me not having any black salt, although I could of used regular white salt but this cocktails called a Black Widow’s Bite not a White Widow’s Bite
