Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Caribbean blended rum aged 6-10 years
1 12 oz Lustau Amontillado Los Arcos Sherry
14 oz Torabhaig Peated Single Malt Whisky
14 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

Created in December 2008 by yours truly at the Cabinet Room, London, England. Originally made using Zacapa 23 rum.

  • 1.7 standard drinks
  • 22.32% alc./vol. (22.32° proof)
  • 23.4 grams of pure alcohol

Superb: Spicy, nutty, salty, smokey and subtle all balanced with a freshening zesty orange aroma. Wow. (I used blood orange peel for the zest.) Will be returning to this gem. Thanks again Mr Difford.

Stunning drink. didnt have havana 7 kicking around so i used old monk 12, hidalgo napoleon amontillado, and ardbeg 10. used turbinado syrup

Havana 7 as all the mentions in green color are just paid product placements and in 95% of the cases a bad choice (or at least far from ideal) for the drinks, sadly. As he states later, it's originally with Zacapa 23. I'd recommend El Dorado 12 or 15 for example.
