Ingredients:
1 12 fl oz Bourbon whiskey
34 fl oz Jamaican-style aged blended rum with funk
34 fl oz Cockburn's Tawny Eyes Port
2 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
1 dash Orange Bitters by Angostura
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

How to make:

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish:

  1. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Review:

I've tried white port, tawny port and ruby port in this vintage cocktail. Tawny works best, with white port a close second, especially if a sweeter style of white port. Your choice of rum is also crucial, with the largest component, bourbon, arguably the least critical. Choose brands well, and you'll be delighted.

COUNTRY LIFE
½ jigger Jamaica Rum
½ jigger Port Wine
1 jigger Bourbon Whiskey
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
Dash of Orange Bitters
Shake with ice and strain into Cocktail glass.

Why have you left out the bitters? If you omit two ingredients, is it really the same drink?
