Prepare

Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.

Prepare pink grapefruit zest for garnish.

Method

SHAKE all ingredients with ice.

FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

Express pink grapefruit zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

As usual a superb sour, believe that this maybe the best sour cocktail using grapefruit I have ever made. Followed the recipe exactly, but am inclined to up the tequila amount next time I make it.

This is indeed quite delicious. The floral notes from the elderflower work beautifully with the grapefruit and the tequila (I used Ocho Blanco today). I cut down the lime a tad and the lower tartness really let the other ingredients shine. Adding it to the growing list of delicious grapefruit cocktails I have found here!

It's a lovely gentle sour. But of course we couldn't resist cranking up the party by adding 10ml Mezcal. And a very scant pinch of salt doesn't go astray. We serve it straight up in a Rocks Glass.

Did it a second time after a longer period and loved it again! It is now saved under favourites. This time I followed the advices used a bit more tequila and some drops of saline solution.

Intense! The specific measures are there for a reason, as I suspected. This recipe would be great on the rocks, but 'up' (as I'd done) it's a tad too sweet. I did add a drop of saline in the half-size shake I made, which might account for some of its grand dynamics. Cutting the tequila 6:1 with a small does of mezcal is just right. Still borderline of too sweet, but what a recipe!

Excellent balance of flavors, lime grapefruit and elderflower and rather sour. Having made a double, got half way through and added 15ml tequila and some ice and I like this boozier version better. Will make it this way again.
